Statement of Faith
An overview of our beliefs about God, salvation, and the Church
One God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the Creator of heaven and earth. The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.Humanity and Sin
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin. Only by God’s grace can he be freed from the power of sin and reconciled to the Father.Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man.
We affirm:
- His virgin birth
- His sinless life
- His miracles
- His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood
- His bodily resurrection
- His ascension to the right hand of the Father
- His personal return in power and glory
Salvation
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is empowered to live a godly and holy life.Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost:
- Those who are saved unto the resurrection of life
- Those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation
Spiritual Unity
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.Historic Creeds We Affirm
We further confess the historic statements of the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed, which unite us with believers throughout church history.
Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
Of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
Begotten of the Father before all ages,
Light from Light, true God from true God,
Begotten, not made,
Of one essence with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation,
He came down from heaven;
He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,
And was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,
He suffered and was buried.
On the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
And His kingdom will have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
Who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
Who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy, Christian, and apostolic Church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead
And the life of the world to come. Amen.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy Church, the communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.
